EPISODE LVII: SARAH MARIA HERNANDEZ

We haven't had an extra in a while.  My interview with Sarah Maria Hernandez from Omega Holistic Wellness Enoch LLC was very interesting as we discussed mental health and spirituality, but not all of it could make the show.  So here is the interview in its entirety as there are more ideas and thoughts about the topic and Sarah shares some experiences that helped pave the path she is walking on.

MIRROR MIRROR ON US ALL

As we go through this journey we call life, we learn things to help us. Sometimes we learn very painful lessons. Sometimes we learn that we are stronger than we know., and then sometimes, we learn that we are engaging in behavior that may stunt our growth or hold us back a little bit. This was the case for me this past weekend.  (read more)

EPISODE LVII: GETTING SPIRITUAL WITH MENTAL HEALTH

I take a quick look at Experience II: Drop Everything which was quite an event.  I also give my two cents on the mental health industrial complex, and Sarah Maria Hernandez from Omega Holistic Wellness Enoch LLC joins me to talk about how her life experiences and medium downloads led her to the mental health field, and the approaches she takes to help and care for people who suffer. MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE DROP OUT - Infected Mushroom (EII theme) CRAWLING - Linkin Park I M O K R U O K - Dimension 23 SPIRITS IN THE MATERIAL WORLD - The Police NO WOMEN NO CRY - Bob Marley

THE GEM OF THE DESERT

So last week I flew out to Carefree, AZ. I was supposed to attend a retreat called Summer Camp for the Soul at a wellness resort called CIvana. Only two of us registered and they ended up canceling the retreat but they still wanted me to come so they took the money I paid and used it as a regular reservation and I could take different classes then the ones I was signed up for. I also had an all inclusive package. Who could say no to that, right? The thing is I didn't want to go there to be luxurious and live the "good life." I went there for self study and improvement, and I will say mission accomplished. ( read more... )

EPISODE LVI: YOU HAVE THE POWER

When we get in tough situations, we tend to get really angry, crabby, sad, emotional, etc.  I have had issues with this my whole life and now I have discovered I have the power to choose how I want to respond, and not just react.  I discuss this along with a situation that happened this past weekend that really tested my patience.   MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE NEW MOON ON MONDAY - Duran Duran BORN TO RAGE - Dada Life 59TH STREET BRIDGE SONG - Simon and Garfunkel PRESSURE (ALESSO REMIX) - Nadia Ali, Starkillers, Alex Jenji PROTECTION - Massive Attack GILA COPTER- RevCo THE POWER - Snap WE GO DOWN - Krewella

EPISODE LV: SAY HELLO TO YOU AND JUMP

We all forget who we are because of the busy day to day items we partake in.  Work, school, etc.  We check off those boxes but the one box we tend to forget to check off.  The one for ourselves.  To explore, to enjoy, to enrich ourselves because for whatever reason we don't believe we deserve it or it is selfish to do so.  So I take a look at that here and see if it holds water (which it doesn't) and I help you find a way to take the jump. MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE HIT & RUN HOLIDAY - My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult LET ME RIDE Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg ONRICHO FLOW (SAIL AWAY) - Enya THE SWEET ESCAPE - Alesso ft Sirenna YOU AND I (RUNAWAY) - Galantis ON THE ROAD AGAIN - Willie Nelson LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND - Lume

EPISODE LIV: YOUR INDEPENDENCE DAY

When we think of Independence day, we think of escaping British rule and tyranny, however you may be the ruling class over depriving yourself of many great and fun activities.  I talk about my experience of the 4th of July going to Seattle and how liberating it was and mistakenly thinking Odesza was retiring so I wanted to see one of the last shows.  Turns out it was just the end of this tour, but it still was a great experience and there is lots of Odesza on this episode to pay tribute to Clayton Knight and Harrison Mills.  The two artists who painted this beautiful masterpiece of sight and sound. MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE All tracks are by Odesza I Play You Listen White Lies How Did I Get Here Higher Ground Say My Name Love Letter Forgive Me The Last Goodbye

EPISODE LIII: DEADLY SE7EN

I take a look at the deadly seven sins.  How deadly are they really? Are these biproducts of mental illness?  Should we eliminate any of them and come up with new ones.  Plus music related to each sin.  It was sort of dysfunctional but really fun to make.  SONGS FROM THIS EPISODE  -MOONCHILD - Iron Maiden -TOO MUCH FOOD - Jason Mraz -CAN'T GET OUT OF BED - Charlatans -I WANT IT ALL - Queen -SO INTO YOU - Atlanta Rhythm Section -I'M BETTER THAN YOU - Chris Tavener -THE WAY I AM - Eminem -SIN - Nine Inch Nails
