EPISODE CXXVI: A DIFFERENT THANKSGIVING

I took this picture when I was at Epcot last.  My family and I used to go there every Thanksgiving when the kids were younger.  I would love to get those days back, but I am grateful for them.  I think we can find anything to be grateful for if we look and I redid this episode which was a very obnoxious anti Thanksgiving episode, but I challenged myself to do something different.  I put my heart out to those who don't like Thanksgiving for whatever reason and want to let them know I see them, as well as try to find things to be grateful for together.

EPISODE CXXV: THE SUICIDE SHOW

TW: The title says it all

I talk about why people contemplate this and my own personal battles for suicidal ideation, and my own experience with self harm due to my erratic and impulsive behavior.  Why do we do it? Are we feeling alone?  We want the pain of life to stop?  We feel that the world is better off.  I dive in and of course examine why a final solution may not always be best.

Gen Z and Mental Health: Why Normalizing the Conversation Still Isn't Enough

heroImage

Okay, let's get real for a minute. We did it. Gen Z actually broke through decades of "we don't talk about mental health" bullshit that our parents and grandparents lived with. We put depression memes on TikTok, we talk about therapy like it's getting coffee, and we've made it okay to say "I'm not okay" without someone immediately trying to fix us with toxic positivity.

But here's the thing that's been eating at me lately, all that normalization? It's not actually solving anything. And honestly, it's starting to feel like we've created this weird space where everyone's talking about mental health, but we're all still drowning.

EPISODE CXXIV: SNAP OUT OF THE SNAP

It's easy to not see that we are spiraling out of control.  We think we are OK but then we start hurting people with our quick reactions and emotional outbursts.  We start snapping off and it can bring us to a very unfavorable place.  Maybe the hospital, jail or even worse the grave.  So how do we manage this?  I dive in and see if there's a way

WEEKEND WONDER

Struggling For Authentic Mental Health Content? 50+ Raw Storytelling Examples That Actually Help

heroImage

Look, I'm gonna be real with you for a second. This last month has been really tough for me, and I found myself scrolling endlessly looking for mental health content that didn't make me want to throw my phone across the room. You know what I'm talking about, right? Those perfectly curated Instagram posts with sunset quotes about "choosing joy" or LinkedIn articles that read like they were written by someone who's never had a panic attack in a Target parking lot.

I was desperate for something real. Something that acknowledged that sometimes we're just trying to make it through Tuesday without crying in our car during lunch break. And honestly? It took me way longer than it should have to find the good stuff.

The Proven Community Connection Framework: Why Your Mental Health Needs More Than Just Therapy

heroImage

Okay, let's be real about something that's been eating at me lately. I've been in therapy on and off for years - and don't get me wrong, it's been life-changing. But there's this nagging feeling that something's still missing, you know? Like I'm doing all this inner work in isolation, and then I step back into the real world and... fuck, it's still hard.

Maybe you've felt this too? You leave your therapist's office feeling centered and clear, armed with all these coping strategies, only to get home and realize you're still fundamentally alone with your thoughts. It's such a shitty place to be, especially when you're doing "all the right things" for your mental health.

This is where the whole community connection thing comes in, and honestly, it's changed everything for me.

OUR LANES

So many people in the world enjoy different things, live unique lifestyles, and are doing their best just to be happy. I find some people have things to say about this and I don't get it. Universal happiness is a thing that makes everyone better. Why do we want to fight it? People have unusual interests to the majority at times, but why do we feel the need to shame these people, or make fun of them? (READ MORE)

7 Mistakes You're Making with Self-Care (and How Essential Oils Can Fix Them)

heroImage

Let's be real for a second – I've been doing self-care wrong for most of my adult life. And honestly? I bet you have too.

We've all been there, right? Sunday rolls around, and we're like "I'm gonna meal prep, do yoga, light some candles, and get my shit together." Fast forward to Wednesday and we're stress-eating cereal for dinner while scrolling TikTok until 2 AM, wondering where our zen went.

Have you ever heard yourself say that?
