EPISODE LXXIV: TRIGGERS AND TURKEYS

I am not a fan of Thanksgiving.  The turkey, the gluttony, the backstory; all of it drives me nuts.  Why do I get so emotional about it?  Sure, I am passionate about my veganism and ahimsa, but I really let it get to me.  Why do we let anything get to us?  That's what we explore this holiday week.   MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE FINGER ON THE TRIGGER - Enuff Z Nuff MEAT IS MURDER - The Smiths INDIANS - Anthrax UNDER CONTROL - Calvin Harris w/ Hurts 444 - Gayathri Krishnan SKYCRAPER - Demi Lovato

FIVE RANDOM THINGS FOR NOVEMBER

So this week, I want to screw around a little bit. We all have other interests besides yoga and mindfulness. Yoga and mindfulness are fun for me, but also essential. Without them, I may be a little off. However, I also have some other interests. I like movies, football, WWE, and just working out all the time. So once a month, to be fun and funny, I will give five random thoughts about these things and other stuff that has affected me. I used to do this on another blog so once a month to be silly, let's go. (read more)

EPISODE LXXIII: DEALING WITH DEVASTATION

We have spoken about this before but I wanted to take it deeper this week.  How can we deal with some of the worst things that can happen to us?  A loved one is taken from us, we end a relationship, we lose a place to live.  How do we find the way to bounce back from these tough blows? MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE DEVASTATION - Savatage ALL COMES CRASHING - Metric ITS OVER NOW - Frehleys Comet DEVASTATED - Joey Bada$$ SHADOWS OF THE NIGHTS - Pat Benatar NOTHING SCARES ME ANYMORE - Steve Angello w/Sam Martin THROUGH THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES - Dragonforce

THE TOKEN DUDE

There is a stereotype. Yoga is for women. All the woo woo shit that comes with yoga is for women. I thought this was an old stereotype but some people still think with this old outdated mindset. Nope men do yoga, and men love the woo woo shit too. However, when I do go to the many retreats I go to, I am either the only dude, or one of a few, and I am totally OK with this. (read more)

EPISODE LXXII: THE ACCEPTANCE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

There are times we are faced with disappointing results despite how logical the outcome favorable for us is.  So how do we accept this?  How can we move on?  How can we be OK knowing that we have no control over this unfortunate turn of events.  We discuss that and just remind ourselves to do the best we can. MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE RIGHT WHERE IT BELONGS - Nine Inch Nails DISAPPOINTED - Public Image LTD LOST AGAIN - Suicidal Tendencies NEVER LET ME DOWN AGAIN - Depeche Mode IM OK - Styx ACCEPTANCE - Frankie Orella

EPISODE LXXI : LOCKED IN NOT LOCKED OUT

As we grow and get better and stronger, there is tension that comes along the way.  Like with any kind of exercise, you must listen to your body and take a break and practice good self care habits that will enable you to reach your goal.  We want the result to be positive so we push ourselves so hard that we end up hurting ourselves and others before healing and growing.  I talk about my journey and how the dips in life can give you some fits, but in the end of the day slow and steady wins the race. MUSIC FROM THIS EPISODE LINE OF SIGHT - Odesza HUNGRY FOR HEAVE - Dio ME MYSELF AND I - De La Soul ONE DAY - Bjork KEEP GOING UP - Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado
